In honor of Veterans Day and the sacrifice of our servicemen and women, UAB Veteran Services will host its 6th annual wreath-laying ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The event will be live-streamed at 11 a.m. on the UAB Students Facebook page, which will allow the UAB and Birmingham community to experience the ceremony while adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols.

UAB is committed to honoring our military and veteran community. While the format for this year’s event will be slightly altered to ensure the safety of everyone on campus, this installment of the wreath-laying ceremony will hold true to its promise to recognize those who serve.

“Veteran Services celebrates and honors our nation’s Veterans and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. COVID-19 has changed our lives dramatically but our nation’s Veterans have continued to serve this country with honor. I am so proud of our heroes!” said Walter Stewart, director of UAB Veteran Services.
