Graphic that reads, "Open House! Drop by the Collegiate Recovery Community and learn more about recovery support and programs available on campus! Tuesday March 22, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m."

To commemorate National Alcohol and Drug Facts Week, UAB’s Collegiate Recovery Community is holding an open house on March 22 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Their new office is located at 1102 12th St. S between the Pita Stop and Subway.

This event is open to all, whether you or a loved one are on the path to recovery, or you would like to learn more about how the CRC offers support to members of the UAB community.  Students are encouraged to drop in to tour the space and talk with the CRC staff about the services and the different levels of support they offer. Snacks and other refreshments will be offered to participants throughout the day. The Jefferson County Department of Health will be present to provide free naloxone training sessions and kits for those interested.

The CRC’s goal is to empower those who are looking to change their relationship with substances through sober events, meaningful connections, and on-campus support. Participants can be directed towards academic support, community involvement, and wellness resources. Participating in a recovery community positively impacts individuals on their recovery journey.
