On Friday, March 26, UAB will serve the Birmingham area community for its biannual service tradition Into the Streets. Each fall and spring semester, students, faculty and staff come together for a full day of volunteer work with a mission of helping to encourage citywide partnerships that will improve education, health, economic prosperity, and quality of life.
This year's Into the Streets will look a little different from years prior. In adherence to social distancing guidelines and healthy behavior protocols, volunteers will go directly to their service site. Participation is prohibited without pre-registration via BlazerPulse. All volunteers will have to show their UAB Healthcheck passport upon arrival, maintain 6 feet of social distance during the event, and wear a mask for the duration.
Small group shifts will be broken into three periods: 8 - 10:00a.m., 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., and 2 - 4 p.m. For more information about Into the Streets, or to sign up, click here.
