On Thursday, April 18, 2019, the UAB Division of Student Affairs hosted its annual awards event to celebrate the remarkable work of its colleagues. Hosted by the Professional Development Awards Committee, the evening event was a time for staff to celebrate each other over a delicious spread by Blazer Catering. Of 80 award submissions received, the following rose to the top:

• Outstanding Star (Support Professional): Allie Reeves, Disability Support Services
• Outstanding Star (Professional): Chris Jones, Student Multicultural & Diversity Programs
• Department of the Year: Student Housing and Residence Life
• Andy Marsch Legacy Award: Marc Booker, Student Housing and Residence Life
