John Jones, Ph.D, vice president for Student Affairs and interim provost for UAB, recently published a chapter in the book "Using CAS Professional Standards: Diverse Examples of Practice". According to the publisher, "This practical text highlights multiple ways to apply the standards and guidelines published by the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS). It offers a compilation of in-depth case studies that demonstrate what the CAS approach looks like in practice across a wide range of functional areas in a variety of college and university settings."
Jones and Mary-Jeanne Raleigh wrote "Chapter 4: Using CAS Standards for Divisionwide Program Review: The Case of a Regional Institution."
The book has received much praise. Among several celebrants, J. Patrick Biddix, an associate professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville wrote: “This much-needed book provides a critical and important link, with invaluable examples, for using the CAS standards to advance good student affairs practice.”
