UAB Disability Support Services presents its first Disability Experience event the week of April 10. UAB students, faculty and staff have volunteered to experience a disability simulation, ranging from low vision to mobility limitations. Participants will attempt to problem solve while experiencing a daily function. Disability Support Services works with the UAB community to remove barriers for students, faculty and staff with disabilities. The goal of this experience is to give participants a better understanding of what it is like to have a disability. On Friday, April 14, from 12-1p.m., participants will reflect on their experiences during a discussion in the Hill Student Center room 220.
Follow the experiences on the DSS Facebook page throughout the week.
