Fans of the hit television series Bridgerton can step into the world of elegance as the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s (UAB) Student Media and Aura Literary Arts Review will host Blazers Abloom, a Regency-era themed English tea party on April 4.
As part of UAB Student Affairs’ Friday Night Live series, the event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Campus Green, offering students a taste of 19th-century refinement. Blazers will sip from a selection of teas at a tea bar, enjoy an assortment of tea sandwiches and petits fours, and build their own floral bouquets while learning the language of flowers.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to paint their own tea cup sets and pen handwritten letters to their “darlings,” embracing the period’s traditions and the theme of the spring magazine issue.
The event seeks to transport students to a world of grandeur, social intrigue, and timeless etiquette. Bridgerton, which has captivated audiences since its debut in 2020, is known for its lavish costumes and high-society drama.
The first 100 students will receive a free bouquet of flowers from Wild Honey Truck. Blazers Abloom is free for all UAB students with a valid ONE Card and aims to provide an immersive, creative space for engagement and community-building. For disability accommodations, contact dss@uab.edu.
