Veterans Services recently hosted a toy drive to lighten the burden of less fortunate students who are also veterans. They presented toys and bikes to grateful men and women who were able to a put a smile on the faces of their children.

Then, not long after that, Veterans Services were the recipients of a gift themselves. Mike Raczynski with UAB Retirees presented the department with $1,000 to help toward their good work. The money will go into the Veteran Services donation account to continue their service to our veterans.

“I was humbled that the retirees thought us,” said Walter Stewart, director of Veterans Services. “This generous gift will help us continue to serve our veterans as they bravely serve our country.”
