Graduation season is almost upon us, which means thousands of Blazers are inching toward the finish line of their matriculation at UAB.
And, what better way to celebrate this momentous occasion than with Grad Week 2018? UAB Student Involvement & Leadership will host Grad Week from March 19-24, 2018, with a jam-packed week of events catered to UAB’s graduating student community.
Grad Week takes place the spring semester of each academic year in an effort to develop and enhance student skills to promote exploration of post-graduation opportunities, increase school spirit and campus pride, and forge community among soon-to-be UAB alumni.
This memorable week of celebration is hosted in partnership with a variety of campus departments honoring graduating undergraduates, graduate students and professional students.
Full schedule of activities planned for the week include:
Grad Fair | March 19 | 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.
UAB Bookstore
Participants can take free cap and gown pictures and/or professional headshot, order class rings and announcements, and purchase cap and gowns. Partners include the UAB National Alumni Society, Career & Professional Development, International Student and Scholar Services and Barnes & Nobles Bookstore.
UAB vs. UA Baseball Game | March 20 | 6:30 p.m.
Regions Field
Come cheer on the Blazers at the UAB vs. Alabama baseball game! Partners include UAB Athletics.
Cappy Hour | March 21 | 2-4 p.m.
HSC Performance Lounge
Join us — and your fellow graduates — as we decorate graduation caps during “Cappy Hour”.
Supplies will be provided. Partners include UAB USGA.
Arts & Appetite | March 22 | 12-1 p.m. & 6-7 p.m.
HSC Room 204
Make UAB’s campus your canvas as we paint UAB landmarks over a light and enjoying meal.
Into the Streets | March 24 | 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.
HSC Amphitheater
Join the UAB community as we serve the greater Birmingham area in a day devoted to community service. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Partners include the UAB Leadership & Service Council and Council of Presidents.
