Starting August 28, 2017, UAB Hill Student Center will administer fees for the use of its meeting and event rooms. The user/service fee will apply to all UAB departments, organizations and other University-related users or sponsored groups – excluding Registered Student Organizations (as HSC facility operations are already student fee-funded).
The fees will reimburse labor and room setup/breakdown expenses, as well as the maintenance of HSC facility and equipment costs.
“The HSC has grown to be recognized as the living room of UAB,” said Mike Sasser, Hill Student Center director. “We all play a collective role in being great stewards of campus resources. The launch of this new rate system will allow us to maintain the quality and longevity of the Hill Student Center as one of UAB’s premier state-of-the-art facilities for years to come.”
Individual fees will apply to the following HSC spaces:
- Ballrooms
- Alumni Theater
- Room 101
- Performance Lounge
- Amphitheater
- Room 203
- Room 204
- Room 206
- Room 220
- Room 309
- Room 312
- Room 314
- Room 316
- Room 318
As a gentle reminder, student organizations and student groups will not be required to pay user/service fees to reserve HSC rooms.
