UAB’s Student Affairs Marketing and Communications team and UAB Student Media have collaborated to create the student-focused, bi-weekly podcast as part of the Division of Student Affairs’ SHOW your Blazer spirit campaign.

UAB seniors Ariana Benedict, a neuroscience major, and Macey Hobson, a public relations major, host the show and explore the tenets of the student-led SHOW campaign: Standing six feet apart, Hand washing, Owning responsibility, Wearing a mask. Additionally, they are fostering conversations about what it means to be a Blazer during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

One of their goals is to become a platform for students’ thoughts, opinions, and experiences, which will be gathered via social media and call-in interviews. “I like to call this podcast just sort of a ‘FYBY’ thing,” Benedict said. “For you, by you.” Students can submit their “call-in” or questions, direct message (DM) @UABStudents on Facebook and Instagram. 
New episodes will be released bi-weekly on Wednesdays from Feb. 10 through the end of the spring 2021 semester and can be found on the UAB Student Media Soundcloud, as well as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
