On October 1, Student Involvement and Leadership will launch two scholarships aimed at emerging leaders on campus – UAB Emerging Leaders Scholarship and Aaron Lamar Jr. Scholarship. Students are strongly encouraged to apply!
Both scholarship amounts vary up to $1,500 and will be distributed for the fall 2018 semester.
UAB Emerging Leaders Scholarship was established to assist deserving students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership at UAB. To be eligible, scholarship applicants must be a full-time, undergraduate student with a minimum of 12 credit hours towards their degree.
Similarly, the Aaron Lamar Jr. Scholarship was established for students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership capability and are also involved in extracurricular activities. Applicants must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program at UAB. Students must also have earned a 2.5 GPA or higher and have a class standing of sophomore, junior or senior in order to be considered.
Applications open on Oct. 1, 2017, and close on Jan. 31, 2018 and are available on BSmart.
