UAB Panhellenic was awarded the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) College Panhellenic Excellence Award. This award recognizes College Panhellenics that demonstrate success in the areas of academics, recruitment, Panhellenic operations and administration, communication with their NPC area advisor, judicial procedures, Panhellenic programming and Panhellenic community impact and relations. Only 20 were chosen across the entire United States and Canada for this prestigious award.
This award culminates what has been a legacy achievement for fraternity and sorority life at UAB. From philanthropy to academics, diversity to model citizenship, this impressive roster of achievements highlights the accolades reached and high-impact practices followed by UAB’s Greek organizations this year.
“We have a healthy and vibrant fraternity and sorority community here at UAB,” said Kristen Bowen, assistant director of Fraternity and Sorority Life. “Elevating the triumphs of our sorority and fraternity community is a great way to combat negative stereotypes associated with Greek groups. Our organizations genuinely value the hard work and education they’ve put into their chapters and councils, so it’s important to bang the drum when they triumph and ensure points of pride are well noted throughout the UAB community.”
UAB FSL is committed to staying true to its mission – promoting the holistic development of its diverse membership through a values-based experience grounded in the community standards of social responsibility, scholarship, philanthropy/service and leadership.
