Miss UAB 2016, Mattie Boyd, will be among the exceptional and accomplished young women competing for the title of Miss Alabama 2016 June 8-11.

Originally from Homewood, Alabama, Mattie attended UAB and graduated this spring with an advanced diploma and degree in marketing. She remained an active leader on and off campus during her time at UAB. Mattie participated in several student organizations and was also a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.

Mattie has devoted her time to the Miss America Organization and through that has been encouraged to develop her platform, supporting the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals along with its programs.

The Miss Alabama Pageant will take place at 7:30pm at the Samford University Wright Center. UAB students, faculty, and staff are welcomed to attend the pageant and support Mattie as she represents UAB while competing for the crown.
