UAB’s Leadership and Service Council in partnership with Live HealthSmart Alabama proudly sponsors MLK's Beloved Community, a commemoration dedicated to honoring the enduring legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on January 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Taking place on Dr. King’s birthday, a recognized federal holiday and day of service, this event invites UAB students to collaborate with Birmingham residents, fostering community empowerment and unity. Together, participants contribute to realizing Dr. King’s global vision of a “Beloved Community”. This year there will be a total of 15 community sites, supporting 350 volunteers.
