Like many students in the class of 2024, Faiza Mawani persevered through the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. She immersed herself in campus culture through activities and organizations and went on to achieve more than academic success.
During her time at UAB, Faiza embraced opportunities like Honors College, the Institute for Human Rights, and a congressional internship with U.S. Congresswoman Terri Sewell. Through it all, she found her place and a supportive community, particularly with the Off-Campus Student Council and the Blazer Spirit Council, where she felt at home and empowered to grow.
Faiza will earn a Bachelor of Arts in political science and history and a master's degree in public administration during the University of Alabama at Birmingham Spring 2024 Commencement ceremony.
