On Nov. 13, UAB students mobilized through the international relief organization, Rise against Hunger to package food for distribution in an effort to help end world hunger. The event took place from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. at the Hill Student Center ballrooms. Rise Against Hunger, an International hunger relief organization, goes by the motto: “Hunger doesn’t have to exist—let’s end it together.”
According to Rise Against Hunger, 821 million people globally don’t receive adequate nutrition for leading an active, healthy lifestyle. Assistance from students and faculty is crucial for the organization to succeed in meeting its goal to pack up over 12,000 meals.
