“The Kaleidoscope” student newspaper will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary during Homecoming week on Saturday, Oct. 7. Starting at 10 a.m., current and former editors, staff and advisors will converge for a brunch event in the Hill Student Center Ballroom to commemorate the publication’s years of telling the story of UAB students.

The event will feature talks from Patrick Cather, the first editor of The Kaleidoscope; Tim Stephens, a former editor and the current CEO of Tim Stephens Media LLC; as well as Chandler Jones, the current editor-in-chief. After the brunch celebration, the Student Media space will be open for live tours and then the group will gather for a special tailgate before the game.
