Madeha Javed, a junior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), has been awarded two top honors in Communication Studies and public relations, receiving national and statewide recognition. Javed, an honors Political Science student concentration in global politics and policy and Communication student with a public relations concentration, is a member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama/Public Relations Student Society of America (PRCA/PRSSA) at UAB chapter and competed against students from every other major university in Alabama. She also works as a social media content creator in the Student Affairs Marketing and Communications Office.
Javed received the prestigious Judges' Choice Award as well as the Medallion Award at the annual Public Relations Council of Alabama's (PRCA) conference in Auburn, Ala.
The Judges' Choice Award is the top student entry. The Medallion Award is the highest award for students and recognizes exceptional talent and skill in public relations.
Javed was recognized for her work on a research project on Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School, a high school located in Titusville. This research project will serve as the foundation for the public relations campaign she and her team will deliver to the school as a part of the public relations capstone class, Campaigns, in the fall of 2024 at UAB.
