Little Blazer Wishes
About
Little Blazer Wishes is a yearly drive that provides gifts and support to UAB students with children during the holidays. It’s an opportunity for the community to help make the holidays special for families faced with the challenges of a stressful holiday shopping and exam season all at once.
Launched in 2018, Little Blazer Wishes has successfully fulfilled the wishlists of more than 400 UAB families over the years. As the program approaches another year, the goal is to continue supporting even more UAB parenting students through items like clothing, books, necessities, and gifts, to make as many little Blazer’s wishes come true as possible!
How it Works - Student Applicants :
1. Applications for the Little Blazer Wishes program have closed for the 2024.
2. Student applicants will be notified no later than December 4, 2024 if there family was selected for sponsorships.
How it Works - Sponsoring a Family :

1. You can choose the family size you are most interested in sponsoring (1-Child, 2-Children, 3-Children, or 4+-Children). Once you select your family size, we have listed each family’s specific needs and requests. Included in the family information is the children’s age, gender, and race/ethnicity (if provided by the family), with the intention of ensuring culturally appropriate gifts.
2. Please note when you/your select a family you are responsible for all children listed within the family description. If you are interested and able we encourage you to purchase something for the UAB student as well. When purchasing gifts for your selected family there is a $200 limit per child and a $50 limit per UAB Student. This is a maximum limit, not the minimum.
If you are sponsoring a family as a group, we encourage you to look at the maximum amount per family to determine if you have the possibility of sponsoring more than one family.
3. Gift Delivery/Drop-Off
1. All gifts should be returned to Off Campus Student Lounge, Suite 140 in the Hill Student Center by Wednesday, December 6 by noon.
2. Gifts should be placed in gift bags, not boxes, organized and labeled as Child 1, Child 2. UAB Student Parent, etc. with your family number on them
If you are interested in supporting Little Blazer Wishes, but are unable to purchase goods and items for a complete family the UAB Division of Student Affairs has created the Little Blazer Wishes Fund. This fund is used to purchase gifts for any unsponsored families. If we are able to secure sponsorship for all families the Little Blazer Wishes Fund will be used to purchase needed items for ALL students who register with the Little Blazer Wishes Program, such as gift cards to grocery stores or other retail establishments.
