Student Affairs Office Olympics Rules and Guidelines
General Rules:
- Participants will be randomly assigned to a team.
- Each team must choose a team captain.
- Every team member must participate in at least one individual event.
- If a person is unable to attend a challenge, the team must send an alternate team member. Please contact Jessica Brown (

- If a team is not represented during a challenge, 5 points will be deducted from the team’s overall score.
- All events will last between 15 minutes - 1 hour. The Closing Games will last approximately 1 hour.
- For each event, there are Gold, Silver and Bronze points awarded.
- Gold are worth 15 points, Silver are 10 points, and Bronze is 5 points. 1 point will be given to all other teams.
Events Venue and Schedules

6/18 in HSC Dining Area at 10am
Post-It Stickler:
Number of Participants: 1 member per team
- You have 30 seconds to stick as many Post-It Notes as possible to an on office chair. The player with the most Post-Its will be awarded the highest scores.
Coffee Mug Marathon:
Number of Participants: 1 member per team
- Participants will carry a cup of water filled to the brim as they make two laps around the room.
- Winners will be determined by who reaches the finish line first and does not spill water below the indicated water line.

6/19 in HSC 314 at 10am
Finger Skating:
Number of Participants: 1 member per team
- One person from the team will compete in a sixty-second typing competition.
- Each competitor has one minute to earn a typing score for their speed and accuracy. Once all the teams are finished competing, they will be ranked based on their scores. The team with the best score is awarded the most points
Staple Pull Challenge:
Number of Participants: 1 member per team
- Try and get as many staples out of the sheet of paper as possible in 1 minute. The team with the most staples removed wins.

6/20 begins in HSC Food Court Area at 10am
Office Scavenger Hunt:
Number of Participants: Whole team or at least 2 member per team
- Team members will be given a list of UAB/ Student Affairs-related clues that will lead them to specific offices or rooms around campus.
- You will wither need to pick up a certain item or perform a task that must be uploaded to the SA Office Olympics Instagram page with your team’s hashtag. Password will be given on site at the start of the event.
- Once your team has completed all clues, you must return to the Food Court area with the items collected.

6/21 in HSC 314 at 10am
Paper Clip Chain Challenge:
Number of Participants: 1 member per team
- Try and get as many paper clips chained together as possible in 1 minute. The team with the most paper clips wins.
Student Affairs Pictionary:
Number of Participants: 2 members per team
- Two individuals will sit back-to-back. One person will be given pen and paper and the other person a picture. The person with the picture describes the picture to their teammate without actually saying what it is. For example, if the image is a worm in an apple, do not say, "Draw an apple with a worm in it." The person with the pen and paper draws what they think the picture depicts, based on the verbal description.
- Each team will have 60 seconds to complete the picture. The team with the shortest time and most accurate picture wins..

Closing Games: 6/22 at 3pm in Court 1 of the Rec Center
Clipper:
Number of Participants: 1 member per team
- A very interesting challenge that involves placing binder clips on a slanted table in such a way that it resembles a pinball game. You need to place three binder clips in a line, then two, and one parallel to each other such that they form of a triangle. The challenge involves rolling a ping-pong ball down the slanted table such that it lands into the binder clips. The participant gets three chances to achieve this feat.
Office Feud:
Number of Participants: Up to 5 members per team
- Teams will compete against each other in a Family Feud-style game with office-related questions.

The Spin Doctor:
Number of Participants: 2 members per team
- This is a team event where one participant is seated in an office chair while they are spun around for 20 seconds by a teammate. At the blow of a whistle or horn, the team member gets up and runs to the finish line.
