Twenty One Pilots, Chance The Rapper, Red Hot Chili Peppers. What do each of these bands have in common? Two words: new music. We have added a “Kscope Discover Weekly” playlist to Spotify and it is chock-full of brand new music just for your enjoyment. We did the searching so you don’t have to. This is what’s in store:
1.Red Hot Chili Peppers - “We Turn Red”
The intro begins with a smooth, steady beat, then dives straight into Kiedis’ mellow pipes. This will be the band’s 11th studio album but their first album since 2011. The album had quite the delay after their bassist, Flea, took a tumble while snowboarding and injured his arm giving him a six month break from playing his instrument.
2. Glass Animals - “Life Itself”
The British quartet releases their single off their highly anticipated second record. The song is percussion heavy, with a dynamic indie groove that will have the whole room chanting its anthemic chorus. The band has yet to set a release date for this album.
3. Usher - “No Limit”
Usher Raymond has a way with hits, and he has finally given the people what they want: another single. He delivered. With a touch of Master P and a cameo from Young Thug, this masterfully contrived single is soon hit all the radio stations at once. It’s easy to reminisce with this sultry track as it feels a bit like his earlier work.
4. Twenty One Pilots - “Heathens”
The moment everyone has been waiting for has come. Tyler Joseph and his soulmate/ drummer Josh Dunn have us eating out of their hands with every album they release. Suicide Squad, both the movie and the album, will be released on Aug. 5, 2016. The band strikes again with another iconic music video to add to the collection.
5. Chance The Rapper - “All We Got”
Calling it the “thesis to the album,” Chance The Rapper has released his mixtape “Coloring Book,” featuring big names like Kanye West, Justin Bieber, and Lil Wayne, just to name a few. This song talks about the rappers faith and blessings, but, at the end of the day, music is “all we got.”
6. Beck - “Wow”
Beck has released more magic and everyone is freaking out, to put it lightly. This whimsical, hip-hop inspired single has the internet blowing up. “This song is about the moments in life that leave you in awe of the world,” videographer/photographer Alicia Ward said. The album is scheduled to drop October 21, 2016.
7. Young The Giant- “Something to Believe in”
The band shows a different side to them with their new single from their upcoming third studio album, “Home of The Strange,” on Aug. 12, 2016. With a propulsive bass and guitar, Sameer Gadhia gives us a heavy dose of his soulful vibrato and provoking lyrics.
8. St. Paul and The Broken Bones- “All I Ever Wonder”
Birmingham native band brings us another single only to leave us craving more off their upcoming sophomore album dropping on Sept. 9, 2016. With a choir joining lead singer Paul Janeway through the chorus, the song gives an uplifting message of staying positive in an apathetic world.
9. Local Natives- “Villainy”
The band wrote the song over an “explosion of creativity” on a flight after having performed at a music festival. This soft-core rock song has a heavy dose of electro pop and strong sentiment as they sing about their hometown; “Love is a chrome palace, lost in Los Angeles”. The band has yet to name a release date but at least Local Natives is giving a taste to their fan base.
