Restaurants are five minutes away from your hall and your classes are in walking distance
You don’t have to go on a long journey to find a late-night meal. Plus, you can get some exercise from walking to class the next day. Even better – you get to sleep later with all the time you save from not commuting to campus, so you won’t look like a zombie going to class.
Birmingham in Your Backyard!
Living on campus puts you in the heart of downtown Birmingham - conveniently located near restaurants, fine arts & entertainment, and a host of volunteer opportunities.
You’re more connected
It’s a lot easier to get involved and make friends when you’re actually on campus. You can meet up with friends for lunch at the Hill Student Center or find a spot on the green to hammock.
You’ll do it if you want to graduate
OK, that’s not entirely true. But studies show that students who live on campus have higher GPAs and are more likely to graduate. So why not make the odds a little greater?
Parking won’t put you in a bad mood
You won’t have to deal with the hassle of finding a parking spot with only five minutes before class. You also won’t need to leave twenty minutes before necessary just to account for the time it’ll take you to find parking.
You’ll only pay one bill - No hidden costs
Rent, electricity, water, cable, Wi-Fi – even furniture – are all included for a single, set price. Calculating your expenses is easy.
Campus is Safe!
Safety is a top priority at UAB. We have an accredited police force that patrols our campus 24 hours a day. A supervisor and several officers from the UAB Police Department’s special Student Housing Police Precinct routinely patrol the residence halls and parking areas on foot and on bicycle.
It’s part of the experience
Each residence hall sponsors fun activities – from ice cream socials, to roommate compatibility improv sessions, to dodge ball tournaments, and lots more. Many people say the best benefit of living in student housing is getting the chance to meet all the other students.
