Donate your household items, non-perishable food, personal care products, cleaning supplies, and recyclables to the designated bins, tables, and dumpsters during moveout. Donations benefit local citizens in need through UAB's partner charitable organizations.

Most of the items that students don’t want to take home can be used by someone else or recycled, so do your part and Move Out, Don’t Throw Out.

Each residence hall lobby will have:

• A cleaning supply table for students to turn in unwanted cleaning supplies and take cleaning supplies to clean rooms during moveout.
• A food donation area
• A bin for household items and gently used clothing
• Cardboard only dumpsters outside near the large, open-top construction dumpsters in place for moveout
• Recycling bins for plastic #1, aluminum, and paper

UAB's partner organizations will accept any food items that are packaged, non-perishable, or bottled. Any food items that have been opened will be discarded. They will also except any clean, gently used clothing or household items.
