We share UAB’s successes with national and local media — and tell those stories ourselves through UAB websites, publications, and social media channels. We shoot award-winning photos and video, and create digital and traditional marketing campaigns. And to keep the university brand strong, we oversee licensing and proper use of UAB trademarks.

We develop and distribute institutional news and information in several ways, including the UAB eReporter for faculty/staff, UAB GreenMail for students and the UAB Campus Calendar. We are also charged with approving all mass mail requests.

Social Media Strategy

We manage content and set strategy for the university’s primary social media accounts that include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, WeChat and LinkedIn, which serve as outlets for official university communication​. We also provide support for university-wide communication and branding initiatives that cut across all units and schools.

We create websites and other communications vehicles for institutional initiatives, including Forging the Future, the UAB strategic plan; UAB’s new budget model; and the 2017 UAB Economic Impact Study. We also maintain Did You Know, a site dedicated to UAB’s latest proof points.
