Graduate Student Emergency Medical Assistance Fund (GSEMAF)

Mission Statement: To assist graduate students with extraordinary medical costs and prevent disruptions in education.

Overview

The fund aims to provide financial assistance to graduate students facing significant medical expenses not covered by insurance, which may impact their studies.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Demonstrable financial need due to medical costs.
  • Need greater than $1000 after insurance.
  • Applicant must be a full-time graduate student in good standing or enrolled for 9 credit hours (unless prevented by medical emergency).

Award Limitations

  • Maximum of 10% of the total fund balance per award.
  • One award per qualifying medical emergency.
  • One award per two academic years.
  • Case-by-case consideration for needs exceeding guidelines.
