This support group is facilitated by professionals from the Birmingham community and UAB psychology graduate students. This is a group designed to reflect the needs and concerns of the parents involved. Parent-requested information is presented to the group by the facilitators, and parents are encouraged to share information and resources with each other as well, within a positive and constructive environment. Most topics and discussions are best suited to parents of elementary and middle school-aged children.

 

Please note, group facilitators cannot provide individual therapy or individualized advice during the group for participating families. However, resources can be provided upon request.
 

Meetings are held September through May on the 1st Thursday of every month from 6:00 - 7:30 pm.

 

Please note, we do not meet during the summer months. Additionally, we are unable to provide child care during the group. Therefore, children should not come to the meeting.
