I am passionate about...I am passionate about helping others. I feel UAB has given me so opportunities to not only help incoming students, but has prepared me to help others in my career through Medicine and Research.
I am interested in (affiliated student organizations/groups on campus)...Undergraduate Cancer Research, Tutoring at the VMASC, Resident Assistant in Rast Hall, UAB Tennis Club
I chose UAB because...I chose UAB initially due to its amazing Financial Aid offered to incoming students. But what really sold me on the institution was the one of its kind Cancer Biology program that is not offered anywhere else. I wasn't on campus long before I realized that I wouldn't have wanted to end up anywhere else. (I would like to answer this one)
Favorite UAB tradition? My Favorite UAB Tradition has to be Blazer Showdown. It's always so much fun to see what dances or skits our organizations can come up with!
Favorite thing to do in Birmingham? My favorite thing to do in Birmingham as a whole is just to sight see and find great places to eat. Whether it's the rainbow tunnels, The Vulcan, Railroad Park, or somewhere downtown, Birmingham is always sure to provide a great view.
Best class you have taken at UAB?The best class I have taken at UAB has to be Organic Chemistry. I found that it connected everything I have learned thus far in the best way possible. Dr. Nikles was also not only an educational professor but always kept the class fun and light-hearted.
Favorite UAB memory? My favorite UAB memory had to be attending the first game ever at Protective Stadium. The energy and excitement before and during the game was unparalleled.
Most surprising thing you have learned or experienced at UAB?I think one of the most surprising things I have experienced at UAB is just how well everyone blends together. I think many Colleges love to talk about diversity, but at UAB it is really at the forefront of your experience and it can afford someone so many opportunities to learn and grow.
Best thing you've ate in Birmingham? The best thing I've eaten in Birmingham by far has been Pho at Saigon Noodle House. I had never had Pho before coming to Birmingham, and Saigon Noodle House was simply the best place I could've tried it at. (I would like to answer this one)
Biggest college/adult related fear you have overcome at UAB?One of my biggest college related fears I think I had was not understanding things. I learned very quickly that it is not uncommon to not understand something. But what I love about UAB is asking for help is not only encouraged but highly welcomed.
Describe something new you tried or did at UAB and how it made you feel.I don't really have anything I want to include here.
What does UAB mean to you?UAB to me really just means opportunity. Ever since I have arrived on campus I have been constantly reminded of the opportunities available at my fingertips. It is immensely refreshing to attend an institution that seems so dedicated to its students success. (I would like to answer this one)
Something I am looking forward to at UAB is...Graduating.
