I am passionate about...Sharing my UAB story and telling everyone about the awesome food around Birmingham!
I am interested in (affiliated student organizations/groups on campus)...Honors College, Campus Outreach
I chose UAB because...Of the endless opportunities available to mean through the school and the city of Birmingham. Birmingham was such a cool city to me and UAB felt like a little oasis incorporated into the middle of the city life.
Favorite thing to do in Birmingham?EAT!! There are so many awesome choice for food around the city. You can find so many different types of food just with a 10 mile radius of campus.
Best class you have taken at UAB?My favorite class I have taken is Lit Ideas: Reading B’ham. We read a ton of stories with Birmingham authors and stories that were based in Birmingham. We also went on excursions throughout the city. It was so fun!
Favorite UAB memory? My favorite UAB memory what is dragon day last year. I had so much fun meeting prospective students, eating good food, and taking cute UAB pics. It was one of the last events of the school year and it was one of my favorite experiences!
Most surprising thing you have learned or experienced at UAB?Driving in a city is hard. Coming from somewhere where there is normal parking everywhere I learned to parallel park pretty quick.
Biggest college/adult related fear you have overcome at UAB?Asking for help! Before college, I never wanted anyone to know if I was struggling in a class or not getting the information. UAB has helped me learn that it is ok to ask for help and use the resources available to you!
Describe something new you tried or did at UAB and how it made you feel.Making a B in a class! It wasn’t the best experience but I learned so much from it. Always reach out to your professors when you need help and go to tutoring!
What does UAB mean to you?UAB means a place to call a second home. The environment and relationships that UAB has provided for me have absolutely changed my life. The people I have met here have become my second family.
