I am passionate about...Traveling and learning new things
I am interested in (affiliated student organizations/groups on campus)...Japanese Culture Club, Korean Undergraduate Student Association, and Future Blazer Alumni
I chose UAB because...of many reasons. Some being its location, size, scholarship, but another being its community. I felt like UAB has a place for people from almost all walks of life to find their people.
Favorite UAB tradition?Connectfest. It’s always such a blast and it’s a great place for freshmen to get connected. Also the Spring Party thrown by the commons is one of my favorites.
Favorite thing to do in Birmingham?I like to go to the summit with friends and just walk around and usually window shop. Although Trader Joe’s is a place we always have to stop by.
Best class you have taken at UAB?I have taken my fair share of classes I loved and my fair share of classes I was not a fan of. I would have to say my favorite though has been Japanese 202
Favorite UAB memory? My friends and I used to go to University Hall after classes were done for a day and have a study party in the empty classrooms. We would always have karaoke breaks. It was always so much fun.
Most surprising thing you have learned or experienced at UAB?I learned more about myself, like connecting more with my culture and heritage.
Best thing you've ate in Birmingham?Trattoria Za Zas has this amazing breakfast style pizza called the Breakfast Za. Although a little pricey for a slice it’s seasoned to perfection.
Biggest college/adult related fear you have overcome at UAB?Accepting that your relationships are constantly changing. Sometimes friends just grow apart as time goes on.
Describe something new you tried or did at UAB and how it made you feel.I tried rock climbing for the first time with a friend at the rec. I was high key super nervous but I ended up surprising myself being able to climb to the top! I felt like I could conquer the world, but then I tried the harder path and was quickly humbled.
What does UAB mean to you?UAB means a place where I can grow and learn. A place that challenges me, but also gives me comfort.
Something I am looking forward to at UAB is...To make more friends and make more memories!
