Sōsaku Hanga is a companion exhibition to the Birmingham Museum of Art’s Shin Hanga: Japanese Prints from the 1920s and 1930s exhibition.
Curated by UAB Assistant Professor Cathleen Cummings, this exhibition explores the works of Sōsaku Hanga printmakers of post-war Japan. These works explore the growing influence of the West on traditional Japanese print aesthetics.
