AEIVA is the contemporary art center on the campus of UAB, located across the street from the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center. We present between six and nine exhibitions a year accompanied by a wide range of programs, all of which are free and open to the public.

Parking

Metered and free parking is available along the streets surrounding AEIVA. Please do not use the lot directly behind AEIVA. This lot is now reserved for hospital use only.

Tours

AEIVA offers free group tours of our exhibitions for UAB classes, departments, student groups, and Birmingham community groups. Our exhibitions rotate every semester, so please check the Exhibitions tab to learn more about what’s currently on view.

Our tours are usually delivered by members of our student tour guide program, and can be anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the group’s preference. We often accommodate tours outside of our regular hours of operation as well.

Tours can be customized to emphasize themes relevant to your group. We can also pull a selection from our permanent collection to support discussion around a particular subject.
