I appreciate your interest in the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program. If you aspire to serve as an officer in the United States Army or simply want learn leadership and fieldcraft from combat veterans, while taking our course as an elective, you are welcome to join us. There is no obligation nor minimum requirement to take the Basic Course, but those who want to lead America’s sons and daughters must demonstrate exceptional academic abilities, leadership characteristics and be physically fit. We will nurture all of these areas, if you are willing to put forth the effort.
Cadets that are qualified to continue into the Advanced Course are contracted and have had the opportunity to accept a full tuition scholarship. Many of our Cadets already have their tuition covered through other scholarships and elect the $5000, per semester, room and board provision instead. These future second lieutenants enjoy training and development in leadership that civilian corporations cannot replicate. Have you met a UAB Cadet that is Airborne qualified? We have them. Do you know a doctor or nurse that has the confidence to navigate through the woods at night, while leading a team to accomplish a tactical mission? I can introduce you. Future doctors, nurses, engineers, aviators, current collegiate athletes are in our program… should you be amongst them?
Win.
