Mrs. Cassandra Toney is a native of Birmingham, AL. She enlisted in the Army as an active-duty Veterinary Food Inspection Specialist (68R). She left active duty in 2010 and joined the Army Reserve, continuing her service in the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program. At the rank of Staff Sergeant, Mrs. Toney direct commissioned into the Medical Service Corps with the Alabama National Guard. Shortly after commissioning, she transferred back into the Army Reserve, rejoining the AGR program. She retired in 2023 at the rank of Captain.

Mrs. Toney’s education includes an AA, a BS in Human Environmental Sciences, and a MA in Homeland Security.
