Explore UAB

PASIGThe Pain and Addiction Special Interest Group (PASIG) is a welcoming community that supports a monthly conversation across UAB departments on current research and clinical efforts to improve responses to addiction, pain and opioid safety.

The one-hour conversations occur monthly and usually include brief presentations or check-ins on current projects, new insights, and requests for advice to create a nurturing community.

The group welcomes anyone from UAB who wishes to hear about ongoing projects, to get practical advice, find collaborators and receive moral and intellectual support. To attend just join the meetings (contact Trudi Horton for the Zoom information).

The initiative is sponsored by Clinical & Population Health Sciences Program (CPHS), a joint program between the UAB Divisions of Preventive Medicine (DOPM) and General Internal Medicine (GIM) that has as its primary goal to grow a cadre of physician-researchers at UAB through a combination of external recruitment and an internal General Internal Medicine Research Fellowship training

This group is led by Stefan Kertesz, MD, MSc, Professor in the Divisions of Preventive Medicine and General Internal Medicine. Please contact Trudi Horton for further information.
