NELLE is a literary journal focused on women and their experiences. The journal is an academic publication staffed by faculty, students, alumns, and community members. Writers of all backgrounds are welcome to submit to this journal.

NELLE publishes once a year and accepts submissions of poetry, short fiction, and nonfiction during our February 1 through June 1 reading period.

Please send all submissions through our online submissions system. There is a $3 fee that covers costs.

Writers will receive two complimentary copies of the issue in which their work appears and a one-year subscription. Copyright returns to the author after publication in NELLE, but work published elsewhere should acknowledge first publication in NELLE. 

Sample copies or a one year subscription cost $10; two-year subscriptions cost $15; and three-year subscriptions cost $18. Issues may be published from our online store.
