The minor in human rights is a valuable addition to almost any major as it offers insights in a rights-based interpretation of what affects our lives as humans. The minor has been in existence since 2018 and offers a scaled down version of the B.A. in Human Rights. The minor requires 9 hours of core courses, including:
- HRT 100: Introduction to Human Rights
- HRT 400: Skills and Methods in Human Rights
- HRT 485: Human Rights Internship or HRT 490: Capstone in Human Rights
The remaining classes (another 9 hours) can be chosen from an interdisciplinary list of electives.
A complete list of minor requirements and courses is available in the UAB Undergraduate Catalog.
