Daisy Wong, Ph.D., Robert Maddox, J.D., Christina Richey, Ph.D., Charles Scribner and Marcus Newell were honored at the College of Arts and Sciences' annual Alumni Awards reception on Tuesday, January 24 at the UAB Alumni House.

These deserving recipients, from myriad backgrounds and disciplines, are outstanding representatives of the diversity of the talent and scholarship within the College of Arts and Sciences and our vast alumni community. All five recipients spoke eloquently of their time as UAB students and the impact that their professors and peers made on their lives and careers. A few of them were able to meet with faculty and students while they were in town.

We are so proud of them and so appreciative of the role they play as ambassadors of the College of Arts and Sciences. As with all of our successful alumni, they are examples of what our current students can achieve with hard work and focus.

Congratulations again to our honorees, and thanks to everyone who participated in the event.
