2013 Antarctica expeditionEver wonder what our UAB Department of Biology marine scientists do when they head south to Antarctica?

Travel along with researchers from UAB and other partner institutions, including the Florida Institute of Technology, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and the University of Southampton, as they examine how climate change is affecting the Antarctic deep sea floor ecosystem in this new documentary video. You'll also get a glimpse of what life is like on a research vessel in less-than-ideal sailing—and working—conditions.

“This is one of the best videos we’ve ever had,” says Principal Investigator and UAB Endowed Professor Dr. James McClintock. “Allison Randolph has done a fantastic job explaining our work for the lay person.”
