The Criminal Justice Student Organization (CJSO) is sponsoring a purse and toiletries drive for Aid To Inmate Mothers (AIM) — a Montgomery-based nonprofit organization that provides services to incarcerated women all over Alabama.

AIM logo. The Alabama Department of Corrections (DOC) does not provide personal toiletries supplies to former inmates upon their release to help them in their reintegration process. Essential toiletries and basic life necessities have to be found elsewhere. AIM provides each woman released from prison with a purse and toiletries to help her begin the necessary steps to readjust to her release.

On Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week (February 3-5, 2015) CJSO will be collecting purses and toiletries at the Sterne Library from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. Donations can also be made in the Criminal Justice office in UBOB 210.

Please consider bringing your new or gently used purses and unopened toiletry items to Sterne Library! For more information on AIM go to: www.inmatemoms.org.
