Dr. Da Yan, Assistant Professor, has published a survey entitled "Big Graph Analytics Platforms" in the journal Foundations and Trends® in Databases. Dr. Yan worked with collaborators Dr. Yingyi Bu from Couchbase, Dr. Yuanyuan Tian from IBM Research, and Dr. Amol Deshpande from the University of Maryland.
"Big Data Analytics Platforms" is the first text to provide a comprehensive survey that clearly summarizes the key features and techniques developed in the tens of existing big graph analytics systems, which were developed recently to deal with massive graphs in real-life applications such as online social networks and knowledge graphs. The survey aims to help readers get a systematic picture of the landscape of recent big graph systems, focusing not just on the systems themselves, but also on the key innovations and design philosophies underlying them. This survey is timely, and is an ideal reference for researchers and practitioners already working, or about to embark on work in this growing area.
