Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s Ireland Visiting Scholar Prize. The prize will be presented at a reception to be held later in the spring. 

The purpose of the Ireland Visiting Scholar Prize is to bring outstanding scholars in the arts and sciences to the UAB campus to present a public lecture and participate in other campus activities. The prize is made possible by an endowment by Caroline P. Ireland and the late Charles W. Ireland.

Nominees for the Ireland Prize should be:
  • An individual of distinction in the liberal arts and sciences
  • Someone who will interact profitably with UAB faculty and students in his or her area of specialization
  • Able to present that specialty in a way that will be of interest to the whole academic community

Please forward your nominations along with a short biographical sketch to Catherine Danielou (danielou@uab.edu) in the College of Arts and Sciences’ Dean’s Office, Heritage Hall 560. The deadline for receipt of nominations is Friday, August 26, 2016.
