David Pollio, Ph.D, the chair of the UAB Department of Social Work, received an official proclamation from Birmingham Mayor William A. Bell in honor of National Social Work Month. 

The proclamation on the behalf the City of Birmingham was presented to Pollio by Donald T. Silmon, Assistant to the Mayor, on March 9, 2015.

The department marked National Social Work Month in March with events including lectures, a poverty simulation led by Alabama Possible, and a Social Work Day celebration.
