Two, one-night only student showcases are set for Project Space, presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Art History. Both exhibitions are free and open to the public.

First is “Splice,” featuring works by Adjunct Professor Jenny Fine’s ARS 495/595 Collage students, Tuesday, December 6, 2016, 5-7 p.m. The showcase will include collaborative assemblages made from surrealist Exquisite Corpse exercises as well as modified books, imagined landscapes and large format mixed media pieces by students: Lucy Allen, Allison Ciamarra, Erin Croxton, Camille Goulet, Timothy Harstvedt, Melody Hollenbeck, Katie Johnson, Jacob King, Alex Kulick, Tina Maenza, Joni Moore, Amanda Morgado, Hannah Rettig, Annie Strong, Leita Turner, and Kady Wohlfarth.

“Barber Shop Tour” is set for Project Space on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 5-7 p.m. Students in the ARS 370 Documentary Photography class, led by Professor Sonja Rieger, M.F.A., will present photographs made in area Birmingham, Homewood, and Mountain Brook barber shops. Participating students are: Tammy Falcon, Erin Croxton, Amber Gomez, Ashlee Boren, Laura Evans, Timothy Harstvedt, Camille Goulet, Carmen Gonzalez Fraile, and Daniel Senko.
