A one-night-only student art showcase, “MOLTEN” will be on exhibition from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham  College of Arts and Sciences’ Department of Art and Art History.

The showcase is in the UAB DAAH Project Space, located on the ground floor of the Humanities Building, 900 13th St. South.

Works in the showcase feature sculptural and installation-based artwork from ARS321/521: Metal Fabrication & Casting class. The advanced-level studio course is a revival of metal casting at UAB, and the showcase will include student projects as well as multimedia presentations highlighting the communal aspects that develop during the metal casting process. 

Assistant Professor Stacey Holloway teaches the class. Participating students are Jennifer Allen of Gadsden, Saramia Arenas of Auburn, Jake Estes of Vestavia Hills, Tasha Henman of Madison, Hannah Hensley of Pinehurst, NC,  Melody Hollenbeck of Wetumpka, Kristin Martin of Leeds, Meredith Martin of Pinson, Jacob Phillips of Dothan, and Katelyn Ledford, Bryce Martinez, Ricardo Muñoz and Caelum Soverow of Birmingham. 

Project Space is an adaptive space that provides an alternative platform for UAB students, faculty and community to engage teaching, research, public service and visual art practices..
