Announcements Brodie Foster March 29, 2016

The UAB Gospel Choir blew the roof off the Alys Stephens Center on November 15th during their 20th anniversary concert as they celebrated with the Birmingham community.

Photos by Jared Bash  Community members came out in droves for the event that was half church service, half concert performance. The anniversary celebration featured a reunion choir of over 100 voices of past and present students, a seven-piece band complete with horn section, steppers, and praise dance and mime teams all directed by the founder and director of the program, Kevin P. Turner.

The UAB Gospel Choir continues its 20th Anniversary celebrations with a Spring Concert at the Alys Stephens Center at 6 p.m. at April 10th, featuring special guests E. Marie Gray and Ashley Sankey. Tickets are $7; $5 for UAB students and employees with valid ID.

Proceeds from this concert will contribute to the costs of their 20th Anniversary Alumni Tour to Canada and the East Coast. The choir will be performing concerts at historically black colleges/universities and churches in Ohio, Toronto, Niagara Falls, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and additional tour stops that will be added to the itinerary.

Recordings of their work are available online on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and physical copies can be purchased at the Barnes & Noble at UAB.
