Two articles published by faculty in the Department of Mathematics have garnered recognition in their fields.
"Singularities and Non-Hyperbolic Manifolds Do Not Coincide" — an article by Dr. Nándor Simányi — was selected for inclusion in the 2013 Highlights Collection by the journal Nonlinearity. The collection some of the journal's most downloaded articles from 2013, many of which have already been highly cited. The journal covers the interdisciplinary nature of nonlinear science, featuring topics which range from physics, mathematics and engineering through to biological sciences.
"Solving Multilinear Systems via Tensor Inversion," by Dr. Carmeliza Navasca et al., has been named as being among the 20 most-read articles for the SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications. The journal contains research articles in matrix analysis and its applications and papers of interest to the numerical linear algebra community. Applications include such areas as signal processing, systems and control theory, statistics, Markov chains, and mathematical biology
