Yumi Takamiya

Her research interests include pragmatics, language pedagogy, second language acquisition, and teacher development. By employing conversation analytic approach, she currently investigates how second language learners of Japanese develop their pragmatic competence. She has worked on a series of research projects focusing on classroom interactions and dialogic teaching by using Sociocognitive approach, Dynamic Assessment and Action Research.
