Simone Ridgeway, a senior majoring in chemistry and minoring in Japanese and an honors student in the Science & Technology Honors Program, recently participated in Minority Access' 13th National Role Models Conference in Orlando, FL (Sept 28-30, 2012).
Simone placed second winning a $1500 cash prize. She also received the 2012 National Student Role Model Award, which recognizes minority students who have excelled while maintaining an outstanding academic record.
Ms. Ridgeway's research mentor is Dr. Jeonga Kim, Dept of Medicine, UAB.
