The Department of Justice Sciences is pleased to announce that Santorra King, a senior undergraduate Criminal Justice honors student, has completed Mervyn H. Sterne Library’s Social Science Research Toolkit Certificate Program. She is the first criminal justice student to complete the seven-week program that introduces students to library-based resources and strategies in social science research.
King is from Huntsville and graduated from Buckhorn High School. She is a former US Navy Cryptology Technician. King is currently a member of the UAB Mock Trial Team as well as the UAB Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success. She also volunteers with The Literacy Council of Alabama, Optum Hospice and Palliative Care, the WellHouse, and other organizations that help educate, bring awareness to, and reduce the stigma surrounding the HIV/AIDS epidemic
King is scheduled to graduate from UAB in the Spring of 2015 and hopes to attend graduate school with the ultimate goal of someday being able to help military personnel and civilians with their legal issues.
